During the 2018 to 2019 school year I was lucky enough to student teach in both fifth and first grade at High Tech Elementary North County (HTeNC). I was mentored by two teachers with project-based learning backgrounds. I had the opportunity to learn and connect from 24 fifth graders and 24 first graders in my time at HTeNC. Spring Takeover
As a part of my student teaching I was responsible for being the lead teacher of the classroom for four to six weeks. During this time I planned day-to-day lessons, along with following our project backwards planner. I was lucky enough to work closely with my mentor to plan my first off-campus exhibition. My time at HTeNC was a special opportunity to grow as a teacher and a learner. I was also lucky enough to develop close relationships with 48 unique students. Click the link below to read my reflection as a student teacher.
