Bailey Hawke
Ms. Bailey was born and raised in San Diego, CA. Bailey completed her Bachelor's of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Colorado State University. At CSU, Bailey taught preschool and nannied. It was during her senior year that she decided she wanted to be a teacher. In order to pursue teaching, Bailey decided to move back to San Diego to pursue a teaching credential and M.Ed in Teaching & Learning from High Tech High Graduate School of Education. If you walk into Ms. Bailey's classroom you will see beautiful, authentic work on the walls, hear students collaborating, hear students asking meaningful questions to one another, and see a teacher learning with her students. Ms. Bailey strives to create a welcoming learning environment where students explore the world around them, feel loved, and have a sense of belongingness. As a culturally responsive teacher, Ms. Bailey understands the importance of students' backgrounds being celebrated in and out of the classroom. Ms. Bailey aims to incorporate her student's cultures and traditions in daily work and projects. Ms. Bailey believes that social-emotional learning should take place in the classroom every day. She believes that educating the heart is just important as educating the mind. Empathy is a driving force in Ms. Bailey's classroom and it is important that she builds a community full of love from the first day of school. Ms. Bailey believes that students come to school already full of knowledge and ready to ask, explore, and answer questions they have about the world around them.
When she is not at school, Bailey enjoys snowboarding, going to the beach, spending time with family, cheering on the Denver Broncos, CSU Rams, and Padres, running, and playing with her puppies.
